britain UKCA
what is UKCA?
Since January 1, 2021, the UKCA logo has been officially used, which is equal to Britain’s CE. When products are access to Britain’s market, UKCA mark shall be affixed rather than CE mark. Or else, it is illegal for products to come into Britain.
The product scope of UKCA is roughly the same as that of EU CE.
How to use the UKCA mark?
In most cases, the UKCA logo must be used on the product itself or on the packaging. In some cases, it may be placed on the manual or other supporting documentation. This will vary according to the specific regulations applicable to the product.
General applicable rules:
1. The UKCA mark can only be placed on the product by the manufacturer or authorized representative (where permitted by relevant legislation);
2. When affixed with the UKCA mark, the manufacturer or authorized representative shall be fully responsible for the conformity of the product to the requirements of relevant laws;
3. Only use the UKCA mark to show compliance with relevant UK laws;
4. The Manufacturer or its authorized representative shall not place any mark or logo on the product which may misrepresent the meaning or form of the UKCA mark to third parties;
5. Do not attach other marks to the product that affect the visibility, legibility or meaning of the UKCA mark;
6. The UKCA mark cannot be used on products unless required by law.
What are the specific requirements for the UKCA certification mark?
- The UKCA mark consists of the letters “UKCA” in a grid, with “UK” above “CA”. UKCA symbols must be at least 5mm in height (unless otherwise required in specific regulations) and must not be deformed or used in different proportions.
- UKCA labels must be clearly visible, legible and permanent. This will affect the suitability of different label specifications and materials – for example, products exposed to high temperatures and requiring UKCA marking will need to have durable heat resistant labels to ensure compliance with regulations.
