ICASA:New Regulation Authorization Wi-Fi 6E
ICASA, Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, has made a significant development by including the frequency range of 5.925 to 6.425 MHz in the lower 6 GHz band for Radio Local Access Networks (RLAN/Wi-Fi) applications.
This decision marks a significant milestone as it opens up the lower 6 GHz spectrum for Wi-Fi services. ICASA recently announced that they have introduced an amendment to Annex B of the radio frequency spectrum regulations of 2015, allowing the utilization of the lower portion of the 6 GHz band specifically for Wi-Fi purposes.
The newly amended regulations cover a specific frequency range spanning from 5.925 GHz to 6.425 GHz. Moreover, ICASA has also incorporated the 122-246 GHz frequency band for Non-Specific Short-range Applications, further expanding the possibilities for various wireless applications.
