What is KC certification in Korea?
KC Certification (Korea Certification) is a unified national Certification standard implemented by the Korea National Standards Board since January 1, 2009. KC certification is required for all the products under Korea’s mandatory supervision, whose product range includes electrical supplies, daily necessities, children’s products and other products.
The difference between KC certification and KCC certification
KC certification: it is for Safety, LVD and battery (the KC test item of battery is the same as K62133);
KCC certification: it is for radio frequency products, test items KCC including EMC, RED and SAR.

Attention
Children’s products are easy to touch
1. Children, as a social group attracting much attention, often need more social protection, so children’s products often have higher regulatory requirements. Some categories of goods can be sold through daigou even without KC certification. However, children’s products are subject to the Special Children’s Product Safety Act and there are no exceptions for parallel imports, daigou and overseas direct mail, so be sure to register certified goods or face potential penalties.
2. If the product is mistaken for a children’s product or there is a possibility of confusion, it must be clearly marked as not a children’s product with the words “for adults”, “not for children”, “over 14 years old” and so on. If not clearly indicated, such products will be considered children’s products.
Parallel imports are exempted from certification
Parallel importer certification will be exempted for product models that have been certified as regular importers (exclusive rights holders in Korea) (safety certification, safety inspection, and supplier compliance inspection). Parallel importers can prepare an application and information on the products they wish to exempt and submit it to a regular importer certification body for a new certification number.
[Note] When registering parallel imported products, please mark the labels stipulated in the appendix of safety standards, manufacturer’s name (importer’s name), and the words “This product is parallel imported product”, “this product is in line with the provisions of” Electrical Appliances and Daily Necessities Safety Management Law “.
Goods purchased on behalf of others are exempt from certification

What goods can be sold without KC certification?
